The various initiatives of the University Foundation are described on this website. For some parts of the website that are not relevant for international visitors there is no English version.
A new cycle of lunch-debates of the initiative "A World of Cities" is organized on Friday 21 April 2017 (Strategy in Flanders) , on Tuesday 30 May 2017 (Infrastructure and Landscape), and on Friday 30 June 2017 (Quality of Life in European Cities).
The next activity of Re-Bel will take place on Thursday June,15, 2017 and will take with the topic: 'Multiculturalism and integration policy in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels".

In an offical ceremony at the University Foundation on Tuesday December 12, 2016, the biannual Fernand Collin Prize for Law was awarded to dr. Sofie Cools for her Ph. D. thesis “De bevoegdheidsverdeling tussen algemene vergadering en raad van bestuur in de NV”, published by Roularta Media Group, 2015, 735 p. She obtained her Ph. D. from the KU Leuven in 2014 with Professor Koen Geens as supervisor.
The composition of the jury was as follows: H. Bocken (chairman), K. Byttebier, K. Byttebier, H. Cousy, B. Deconinck, F. Deruyck, P. Popelier, H. Swennen, M. Van Damme, W. Van Eeckhoutte, A. Van Oevelen, I. Verougstraete, J. Wouters and A. Wylleman.
The 15th Ethical Forum took place at the University Foundation on Thursday December 8, 2016, and addressed the question "Is Academia a place for women? The strenuous road from Ph. D. student to rector." The ecvent was very successful, with very good presentations and a lively discussion.
During the academic year 2016-2017 an international postgraduate course in Football Business is organized in the premises of the University Foundation. This postgraduate is organized under the academic responsibility of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB, see http://www.vub.ac.be/en/) by the International Football Business Institute (IFBI, see ifbi.brussels). More information on the programme as well as on the procedure to apply can be found on the website of the IFBI.
In the spring of 2015 the University Foundation and "la Fondation pour l’environnement urbain Pierre Laconte" organized a first cycle of lunch debates on the theme «A World of Cities» for the members of the Foundation and also for a broader public (faculties, economic, social and cultural organisations, ...).
This initiative and this collaboration was continued in the autumn of 2015 with a new cycle of three lunch debates with a broader scope. The same in the spring of 2016.
In the automn of 2016 a fourth series of three lunch debates is organized.
- Monday October 3, 2016 at 12.15 pm "Land use, population density and life quality in urbanized Belgium : an agenda for action".
- Thursday November 24, 2016 at 12.15 pm "Cities as consumers of the environment - a global management exercise".
- Friday December 2, 2016 at 12.15 pm. "The quality of the landscapes and the quality of the urban and rural environment".
